ABOUT
Anastasia Waters received her BFA in modern dance at Texas Christian University (2010) and was recipient of the Jerry Bywaters Cochran Scholarship for excellence in modern dance. At TCU, she performed in works choreographed by Susan Douglas Roberts, Elizabeth Gillaspy, Suki John and guest artists Robert Battle, Loretta Livingston, and Alexandera Beller. In her final year at TCU she was awarded the "Emerging Choreographers Award" for her creation of modern pieces, "Bedtime Story" and "Omnipotence". To further her training she attended the American Dance Festival in North Carolina (2009), where she studied modern dance technique and choreography with Mark Haim and Pamela Pietro. She attended Bates Dance Festival in Maine (2010), where she performed in an original work choreographed by Doug Varone. At Bates she also studied modern dance technique with Natalie Desch, of Doug Varone and Dancers, and Omar Carrum of Delfos Danza Contemporanea. In addition to her personal training Anastasia has taught ballet, modern, and composition in many studios around the DFW metroplex including Ballet Conservatory, Ballet Center of Fort Worth, Chamberlain School of Ballet, and Dance Academy of Mansfield.  Anastasia has also been commissioned to set dance works on Chamberlain Performing Arts, Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts, Tarrant County College, and Arlington Heights Dance Department to name a few. Anastasia founded and directs the professional modern dance company imPULSE dance project in 2012. Through imPULSE she has produced a number of full-length productions, and has created a number of works on the company. Anastasia has had work accepted into the Brazos Contemporary Dance Festival, Out of the Loop Fringe Festival, {254}- DanceFest, and Dallas Dances (2017 & 2018) to name a few. Going forward Anastasia hopes to continue creating, and bringing together other passionate dance artists to enrich the lives of her community through her love of dance.
